KURO BETA UPDATE - MAY 19, 2026

Launch date confirmed, plus the full changelog through May 16. LAUNCH DATE IS SET - JULY 18, 2026 After Alpha and two full Beta phases, the date is finally locked. Kuro officially launches Saturday, July 18, 2026. The exact hour will be announced soon. The date itself is final. Beta Phase 2 continues right up until launch - keep playing, keep reporting, keep building. DONATIONS & MAPLE POINTS Donations Are Now Fully Automatic The donation page now processes everything instantly - no manual grants, no waiting. Donation page: https://playkuro.com/donate Beta Phase 2 Bonus - Still Active Every donation during Beta Phase 2 grants a +25% bonus on Maple Points . Every Maple Point you buy carries over to launch automatically - whether you spend them now or save them. The bonus ends at launch and will not return. Maple Points Non-pet items purchased with Maple Points are now permanent - they never expire. NX purchases and pets keep the standard 30-day duration. Damage skins purchased from the Cash Shop are now permanent as well. NEW SYSTEMS & FEATURES Job Posting Board (Still in testing - avoid posting rare ETCs) A new Job Posting Board NPC has been added for ETC farming requests. Players can post requests for ETC items they need farmed, searchable by name (no item IDs needed). Farmers can browse open requests and turn in matching ETC items. Rewards are paid in mesos based on the request's listed reward per item. Posters can claim fulfilled items from completed or partially completed requests. Posters can cancel remaining open requests and recover unused escrow. A custom in-game board sprite has been added for the NPC. Unified Settings Window Widget, Visual, and Chat settings have been consolidated into a single Settings window with four tabs under "cfg". A new Own Damage Opacity slider has been added in the Visuals tab. Abyssal Gauntlet HUD Update The Abyssal Gauntlet now has a new in-game HUD focused on faster decision-making during runs. Added clickable HUD buttons for common actions - Pickup, Swap, Discard, HP Potion, MP Potion, Elixir, Extract, and Quit. Pending drops now display more clearly with direct action buttons. The HUD highlights key run info - time remaining, current floor, mobs remaining, fragments, corruption status, equipped weapon, and active pending reward. Gear, inventory, and detailed stats are now collapsible to reduce screen clutter. Extract only becomes available when the extraction window is actually open. Existing @gt commands still work as a fallback. This is a usability update only - difficulty, rewards, monster stats, and drop rates were not changed. Hyper Teleport Rock at KIN Hyper Teleport Rock has been added to KIN's special items shop. Costs 5,000,000 mesos and grants 3 teleport uses, expiring after 24 hours. VIP Teleport Rock remains available separately. Uses the world map - open the map, click a valid destination, and confirm. Follows VIP Teleport Rock map restrictions (blocked/event/jail/tutorial/invalid maps cannot be used). Chair Gachapon A free weekly chair roll per household has been added alongside the existing 2,000 MP roll. Over 200 new chairs have been added to the pool. CASH SHOP New Cash Equipment: Over 200 new cosmetic items added across all slots over recent patches - hats, faces, eye and earring accessories, tops, bottoms, overalls, shoes, gloves, capes, and weapon covers. The May 15 batch alone added 70 items: 12 Weapons, 9 Hats, 7 Tops, 7 Bottoms, 7 Shoes, 7 Gloves, 8 Capes, 7 Overalls, 3 Face, 2 Eye, and 1 Earring. Highlights include Great Golden Dragon's Fury, Dark Furrytail Cat's Paw, Red Lotus Spirit Walker's Fan, the Shepherd's set, Summer Breeze Flower Crown, Lucid's Earrings, and more. All Cash Shop items have been normalized to a 30-day duration (previously some were 90-day). The Auto All Cure Potion Pouch has been moved to the correct Cash Shop category (Pet Equipment). Updated reward ranges: Papulatus 2-4 | Zakum 3-6 | Scarga 4-8 Horntail 6-12 | Von Leon / Castellan Toad 8-14 | Pink Bean 10-16 Balrog Seal Destroying all 5 chain reactors now correctly removes the Seal debuff - late joiners are also cleared automatically. Balrog Seal totems in both Normal and Easy Balrog now properly initialize and can be attacked to release the seal. Easy Balrog now has the full seal mechanic that was previously only on Normal. SKILL CHANGES Warriors Dawn Warrior - Combo Rework: Combo Attack now caps at level 20 (down from 30); levels 21-30 have been removed. Advanced Combo has been extended from max level 20 to max level 30 and is now the primary 4th-job combo extension skill - at level 30 it grants 250% damage, 60% proc rate, and 10 combo orbs. Reaching master level 20 requires advancing to fourth job. Dawn Warrior - Soul Blade: 4th-job damage increased ~10% (410-550% -> 451-605%). Dawn Warrior - Equinox Slash: Damage increased ~10% (96-220% -> 106-242%). Dawn Warrior - Moon Dancer: Damage increased ~10% (85-200% -> 94-220%). Dawn Warrior - Achilles: Damage reduction now works for 4th job - previously only activated for Adventurer Warriors. Achilles now starts at master level 10 (was 30), enabling mastery book upgrades to 20 and 30. Magicians Bishop - Angel Ray: Damage per line doubled at all levels - 109%/218% at Lv.1, scaling to 260%/520% at Lv.30. Still hits 4 times per monster; mastery and MP costs unchanged. Animation speed doubled for a noticeably snappier feel. Blaze Wizard - Meteor Shower: SP assignment now respects the master level cap from your skill book. SP Reset scrolls can no longer push it above the unlocked max, and resets that cannot move any points will not consume the scroll. SP can now be added to Meteor Shower correctly. F/P Arch Mage: Fixed Meteor Shower being stuck at level 0. Archers Wind Archer - Final Attack: Proc now plays the correct attack animation instead of being treated as a buff activation - the visual now displays properly to you and other players. Wind Archer - Bow Expert: Tooltip corrected at all 30 levels - values were wrong (Lv.30 showed +10 instead of the real +20). Thieves Assassin & Night Walker - Lucky Seven: Now hits up to 3 monsters - the primary target takes full damage, secondary targets take 50%. Early-game grinding for thieves is much faster. Claw Attack Recovery: Running out of throwing stars mid-combat no longer freezes your character - the server detects the empty ammo and resyncs the fight so you can keep playing. Pirates Corsair - Elemental Boost: Moved from 4th job (Corsair) to 3rd job (Outlaw) - skill points migrated automatically if you already learned it. Corsair - Wrath of the Octopi: Now supports up to 2 summons active at once, each lasting 5 minutes. Summoning a 3rd removes the oldest. Mobs are attracted to any nearby octopus. Thunder Breaker - Shark Wave: Updated to 95-240% across levels - the skill now properly hits nearby targets. Pirate Transformations: Marauder Transformation, Super Transformation, and Thunder Breaker Transformation no longer block movement while attacking. Aran Combo Finisher Rework: Finisher skills (Combo Smash, Fenrir, Tempest) now only consume the combo stacks they need (30/100/200) instead of wiping your entire counter. A 250-combo Aran using Combo Smash keeps 220 stacks and stays in Combo Critical. Cygnus Knights Mastery Book Progression: Dawn Warrior Stance and Achilles now start at master level 10 (was 30), enabling proper mastery book upgrades to 20 and 30. Mastery Books have been added to boss drop tables (Zakum, Horntail, Pink Bean, Von Leon, etc.). The Mastery Book Announcer NPC can now be used by Cygnus Knights. All Classes Action Recovery: If any server-side handler errors out, your character now automatically unfreezes instead of requiring a relog - significantly fewer "stuck character" incidents overall. DROPS & ITEMS Heaven's Hammer: Lv.20 Mastery Book now drops from Skelosaurus, at the same rate as its other mastery books. Corsair - Eternal Bullet: Now drops from Temple of Time mobs - Dodo, Memory Monk, Memory Guardian Chief, and Qualm Guardian Chief. Alcaster: Now sells Magic Rocks and Summoning Rocks up to 1,000 per purchase (was 100). Other items remain capped at 100. Von Leon Equipment Sets: Sets (105-109) expanded to include all Von Leon item families - Marx, Victor, Alma, Hex, Fox, Celine, Nox, Scar, Cora, and Mer - not just the Royal tier. All families share the same set bonuses. Over 100 items added across the 5 class sets. PROGRESSION & ECONOMY High-Level Kill Credit: Level 200+ characters can now earn kill credit from any mob above level 180 - no more being locked out of dailies/weeklies by the old level-difference cap. Lunch Buff Tiered Extensions: Picking up additional lunch items now grants tiered extensions based on remaining time - under 3 minutes left: +3 minutes; under 5 minutes left: +2 minutes; 5+ minutes left: +1 minute. The cap remains 30 minutes. MAPS & WORLD Temple of Time Spawn Rebalance: All 15 Temple of Time maps (Memory Lane, Road of Regrets, Road to Oblivion) have been standardized to 65 spawn points each for consistent grinding density. Ulu City World Map: Ulu City maps now appear on the world map with proper names and can be teleported to via Hyper Teleport Rock. HTR Grouped Destinations: Grouped/clustered world map spots that were previously invisible in the Hyper Teleport Rock UI now appear and can be teleported to. Forest of Animals Fall Reset: Falling below the map boundary in Forest of Animals no longer softlocks you - you respawn at the starting portal. QUALITY OF LIFE @expedroll: Roll results now display highest-to-lowest with numbered ranks (ties broken alphabetically). AP Reset: Cap raised to 32,767 on both server and client (was 999), allowing large AP redistributions in one operation. Skill Level-Up Button: Now properly grays out when a skill is already at max level (Achilles and Elemental Reset). Level 200 Announcement Restored: Non-GM players reaching level 200 will once again get a congratulations broadcast to the world. UI & WIDGET Online Players Redesign Compact row-based layout - denser and more readable. Level numbers are color-coded - gold (200+), light blue (120+), gray (lower). Free Market players are highlighted with a green accent. Always-visible search bar and new sort options (Name, Level, Job, Map). Compact P/M/T action buttons with hover tooltips. Damage Display Multi-Player Skin Accuracy: When multiple players attack the same monster, each player's damage numbers now correctly display with their own equipped skin - no more borrowing someone else's skin in crowded fights. Critical Hit Display Fixed: Critical hit damage numbers now properly render with the critical hit visual effect instead of sometimes appearing as normal hits. Widget Fixes Boss Attempt Counter: The daily boss counter in the widget now updates automatically after boss kills. Gauntlet Button: Gauntlet button clicks (start, quit, etc.) no longer get silently dropped during the initial connection. Fixed icons not loading for Mob Info, Ore Storage, and Guild Storage. IRONMAN Party Restrictions Enforced: Solo Ironman is fully blocked from creating, joining, or receiving party invitations through any method. Group Ironman can only party with members of the same Ironman group. Solo Ironman players can still enter boss expeditions alone (minimum party size of 1). Monster card drops now check your own character's Monster Book instead of the account-wide state - if another character on your account maxed a card (5/5), your Ironman character can still receive that card drop. Enabling Ironman mode now clears inherited Monster Book cards - stale card data can no longer persist and suppress drops. Converting to Ironman now properly clears Monster Book entries on the client side and resyncs Monster Ring stats - ghost card entries no longer remain visible. EVENTS KuroQuiz Rewards Fixed: Correct answers now properly grant Perfect Pitch, and winners receive KuroMS Event Boxes. Reward failures are isolated per-player. BUG FIXES Skills & Combat Maker - the stimulant destroy chance has been removed. Failed stimulant rolls no longer destroy your crafted equip. Damage skins now work properly. Items & Shops Dragon Marble Candy 11-pack - purchasing the bundle now correctly grants 11 pet food items instead of 1. Storage Slot Increase tooltip no longer displays garbage numbers - it correctly shows your current slot count. The "Recharge All" button in NPC shops now works correctly and no longer conflicts with individual slot recharge buttons. NPC Shop Recharge - malformed recharge requests no longer leave the client hanging. Casey Minigame - the NPC now checks inventory space before consuming crafting materials, so you no longer lose materials to a full inventory. Bosses & Maps Balrog Seal totems in both Normal and Easy Balrog now properly initialize and can be attacked to release the seal. Fixed Dragon Flight morph persisting through channel changes and logins in Temple of Time - players will no longer get stuck in dragon form after leaving dragon flight maps. Removed the foreground animation layer on Aran story maps that rendered as a black smoky rectangle at higher resolutions. Map Transfer Desync - monsters no longer flicker or reset when entering a map. Monster Desync - attacking a dead monster target no longer causes nearby monsters to flicker or disappear on your screen. Other VIP Teleport Rock - all 20 saved locations now display correctly after login (previously capped at 10). Mechanic Mounts - move-while-attacking now works during Mechanic vehicle riding. Whitelist Tracking - quest/activity whitelist status now persists across all characters on the same account. Previously regressed tutorials are working again. STABILITY & CRASH FIXES Further improvements made to prevent crashing. Fixed a client crash caused by Moonson - the client now recovers automatically instead of crashing. Skill Cooldown Chat System Removed: The "smart skill cooldown chat" feature has been removed - native skill cooldown messages will now display unmodified, and the setting is no longer available. It was causing crashes and will be remade later. ANTI-CHEAT Autoban and automated botcheck captchas are now enabled by default. Players may occasionally receive a quick captcha verification during gameplay - the chance is very low during normal play and slightly higher while actively farming. Legitimate players should rarely notice. Sustained botting will be caught over time. OTHER Flappy Stirge: Added a parallax scrolling background with 4 MapleStory-themed layers (sky, mountains, trees, ground vegetation), each scrolling at a different speed for that classic side-scroller feel. Falls back to the old look if assets fail to load. Galicia World: Re-enabled. UPDATE NOTES Please patch using the launcher before logging in.
