KURO BETA PHASE 2 - DETAILS
Posted by Kuro
Ten days out. On April 29th we wipe, hit the switch, and run Beta Phase 2 for approximately two months straight into launch. This is the stretch where we stress-test everything at scale, shake out the last round of balance data, and give you one final shot at rewards that will never be obtainable again after launch . Here's the rundown. RATES EXP: 1x (see Journey below) Meso: 3x Drop: 3x Quest: 3x Built-in boosts on top: Increased mob spawn across the board Daily 2x EXP coupon from Kin (90 minutes) 1.2x EXP Lunch drops JOURNEY EXP - YOUR PERSONAL LEVELING CURVE The 1x base rate deserves an asterisk. You are not actually leveling at 1x. Journey EXP is a brand new per-character progression system. Instead of a flat server rate that either trivializes early content or strands you at 4th job for a month, every character earns their own personal EXP multiplier that scales up as they hit level and job advancement milestones. You start slow. You get faster as you prove progression. By 4th job you are moving at 5x. By 150 you are at 9.5x. By 180 you are at 17x. The design goal is simple: you experience Maple in order — Victoria grind, HPQ, KPQ, LPQ, OPQ, 3rd job maps, 4th job endgame — while still being able to realistically push into late game inside a two-month beta. The Full Tier Table Tier 0: 1.0x — Start Tier 1: 1.5x — Level 20 Tier 2: 1.75x — Level 30 Tier 3: 2.0x — Level 45 Tier 4: 2.5x — Level 60 + 2nd Job Tier 5: 3.25x — Level 80 Tier 6: 4.0x — Level 100 + 3rd Job Tier 7: 5.0x — Level 120 + 4th Job Tier 8: 6.25x — Level 130 Tier 9: 7.75x — Level 140 Tier 10: 9.5x — Level 150 Tier 11: 11.5x — Level 160 Tier 12: 14.0x — Level 170 Tier 13: 17.0x — Level 180 Tier 14: 20.5x — Level 190 Tier 15: 20.5x — Level 200 The ramp from 120 onward is intentional. Maple's EXP curve past 120 is brutal — the 190-to-200 stretch alone costs more raw EXP than the entire 1-to-150 journey. Without that late-curve acceleration, nobody would realistically see 4th job endgame inside a two-month window. With it, 180+ is actually on the table for committed players. How Journey Stacks With Everything Else Journey is its own separate layer. It does not replace or conflict with the existing rate pipeline — it multiplies on top of it. That means Journey stacks cleanly with: World EXP rate KuroMS Lunch buffs 2x coupons from Kin Any other event or item bonuses A Level 120 character hitting mobs with Lunch active and a 2x coupon running will see their effective EXP rate jump well into double digits during the coupon window. PQ Journey Cap Classic Party Quests (HPQ, KPQ, LPQ, OPQ, PiratePQ, EllinPQ) have a Journey cap of 2.5x . That prevents high-tier players from dragging old PQs into the permanent meta. World rate, Lunch, coupons, and base meso/drop rates still apply normally — only the Journey portion is clamped. Beginner Protection Levels 1 through 10 are hard-locked to 1x regardless of any buffs. Early pacing stays intact. RESTED EXP - CATCH-UP FOR WHEN LIFE HAPPENS Journey rewards progression . Rested rewards returning . Two different problems, two different systems. Take a few days off and you don't fall behind. Rested EXP is a personal, bounded catch-up pool that accrues while you're offline and gets spent when you come back. No server-wide rate inflation, no guilt for missing a weekend. How It Accrues Nothing accrues for the first 72 hours offline At 72 hours offline, you earn your first Rested block Each additional 24 hours offline earns another block Each block is worth 50% of your current level's EXP requirement Pool caps at roughly 2 levels worth of bonus Rough math: 3 days offline: about 0.5 levels worth 4 days offline: about 1.0 level 5 days offline: about 1.5 levels 6+ days offline: capped at about 2.0 levels How It's Spent While you have Rested EXP in the pool, eligible mob kills give +100% bonus EXP — essentially double. The pool drains by exactly the bonus amount granted, so a 10,000 EXP mob kill drains 10,000 from the pool and gives you another 10,000 on top. Rested applies to mob kills only. It does not apply to Party Quests, quest turn-ins, or event reward claims. This keeps the system focused on its job — helping returning players catch up on grinding — without turning into an abuse path. Checking Your Rates Type @showrates in-game at any time for a full breakdown — world rate, Journey tier, next unlock, Rested pool remaining, Lunch, coupons, effective rate, PQ cap. No guesswork. BETA REWARDS Two items on the table. Neither will be obtainable after launch — not from gachapon, not from events, not from any future content we ship. Once earned, they stay on your account permanently. This is the only window. The Pet — permanent, delivered on launch You qualify for the pet if either of these is true: You reached level 75+ in the current beta You have the Beta Tester role on Discord If you don't have the role yet, you can claim it right now . Head to playkuro.com/dashboard , connect your Discord, and you will be auto-assigned. That's it. The Chair — permanent, delivered on launch Reach level 175 or higher during Beta Phase 2 and you also earn an exclusive chair on top of the pet. The chair is only unlockable during the BP2 window — once BP2 ends, that door closes. NX & MAPLE POINTS Beta Testers keep a good chunk of NX carrying across phases: Current Beta → Beta Phase 2 Beta Phase 2 → Launch Maple Points will be wiped between phases.
