KuroMS Suggestions discussion with 7 posts about Change rock of time crafting.
Description of Suggestion:reduce the required number of Piece of Time needed to craft Rock of Time, from 500 pieces to 100/200 pieces. Why Do You Think This Is Needed? right now, there are 3 ways to obtain Rock of Time for crafting timeless gear: 1. PB boss drop 2. maker skill - 500 piece of time + 10 sapphire + 10 emerald + 148.5m 3. inkwell shop - 100 PP i spent some time trying to farm materials to craft rock of time and noticed some issues with this: 1. farming 100 PP takes less time than 500 piece of time 2. if i were to craft 7 timeless gear for full set effect, i would need 11 Rock of Time (= 5500 piece of time) a total of 5500 piece of time is a crazy amount, taking into account solo ironman players and those who are not able to boss yet. i think reducing the amount needed to 100/200 pieces makes it a fair amount especially since it already costs a good chunk of meso and ores to make. plus, the drop rate of piece of time is really low too to add on, after clearing the tot questline alone, i only had like 100+ piece of time. so yeah.. Additional Notes/Comments: or maybe another alternative is to increase the drop rates for piece of time by a significant number? nobody has gotten to VL sets yet, so we may have to revisit this in the future.

Sharing experience as one who crafted a piece of time: I farmed for 2 characters worth, since Tenjin, and only finally hit 500 bringing my second char Kenpachi up to get the 500 pieces. I would say generally most people wouldn't get close to 500.

i agree, i have a hunch the VL sets also require an obscene amount of totems

Honestly, I think both the Timeless and Von Leon sets are supposed to be practically endgame, right? You get extremely strong when you're full Timeless. It feels kind of weird that you can buy Rock of Time using Perfect Pitch. For example, I never farmed Pieces of Time, and I hadn't even killed PB, but I was already full Timeless. It makes no sense to have a full Timeless set without ever killing Pink Bean or spending a solid amount of time grinding ToT (Temple of Time) mobs. If a change were to be made, my suggestion would be to maybe decrease the amount of Sapphires and Emeralds required (since it's a lot), but keep the 500 pieces. These items aren't supposed to be easy to get; they are meant to be a grind. The same goes for Von Leon. The VL set is hard to get, but it's supposed to be, because right now it's the strongest set we have in the game. It makes no sense to be able to get it within just one month of playing. It completely ruins the fun of the progression. However, keeping the beta in mind, it does make perfectly good sense for these sets to be easier and more accessible right now just for testing purposes.

i do like the idea of removing RoT and medal from inkwell shop, to get timeless and vl set, one should have done the content (apart from buying with a shit ton of meso). right now with the buffed mob spawn rates, it still takes hours to farm 500 PoT. and while it is somewhat endgame content, i believe kuro has a long way to go with higher difficulty bosses that also drop better gear. so we should make timeless a little more accessible for all so that we can all progress together. take into consideration the average player who can't spend 1h trying to down pinkbean. or to spend 1h every day to farm a few PoT to eventually craft 1 timeless equip (not weapon) in 1 week. all this gets very demoralising and drives casual players away. keep in mind that casual players will make up majority of the server population. do we want to set such a high barrier to entry? that being said, maybe a more balanced approach would be something like: 200 PoT + 10 sapphire + 10 emerald + 200m meso = 1 RoT and crafting timeless equips will still require some PoT (just like VL equips) i think this will push players to both farm in tot and boss pb? or maybe just increase drop rates for PoT..

Right now, the routes don’t really line up properly: PB route = bossing route ToT farming route = grinding route Inkwell route = alternative currency route In theory, that’s good because different types of players have different playstyles. But in practice, if the Inkwell route is faster than farming 500 PoT, then the farming route becomes almost pointless. At the same time, if Inkwell is removed completely and the 500 PoT requirement stays, then casual/solo players may feel hard-walled before they can even reach the bossing route properly. So I think the goal should be to make all 3 routes make sense, without having one route completely invalidate the others. My 2c: 1. reduce the amount of PoT required to craft RoT, so the grinding route feels more reasonable and less demoralising. 2. at the same time, PB should remain highly valuable by either dropping Rock RoT directly, or possibly even dropping Timeless gear itself. 3. more PP required to redeem RoT from Inkwell This way, players who are more impatient or stronger can choose to push PB for faster progression, while casual/solo players still have a slower but realistic farming route. Inkwell can then remain as an alternative to the grinding portion, but with the opportunity cost of giving up PP. I think Inkwell just needs to be balanced so that it acts as an alternative path, not the obvious best path.

Perfect Pitch is the most important currency in the game. If we increase the costs even more, it's going to make even less sense because Von Leon is already extremely expensive—just do the math on how much it costs to make a VL piece. Also, if you make Timeless too accessible and easy to get, other equipment completely loses its purpose. For example, no one will use the level 100 set, no one will use the Reverse set, no one will use normal sets, and no one will scroll other boots for attack (like Facestompers). Any normal weapon that isn't Timeless becomes totally useless. When I played in Beta 1, I needed to have reasonable normal gear before getting my Timeless, because back then there was no Perfect Pitch to Rock of Time exchange. I had to get strong first to be able to do Pink Bean and earn my Timeless equips. If you guys don't like that, that's fine, but I think when we're talking about endgame, it shouldn't be easy to get. We also need to maintain the value of other items in the game, which currently have none. Right now, the level 100 set is useless and normal items have practically zero value.
