KuroMS Announcements discussion with 1 post about PATCH NOTES - AUGUST 6TH, 2026 - PATHFINDER, CHAOS ZAKUM, AND THE FORTUNE SYSTEM.

PATCH 1 OF 2 This is the first of two patches. A second follow-up patch will arrive tomorrow, August 7th. PATHFINDER DRAWS. CHAOS ZAKUM FALLS. Chaos Zakum is awake, and Lionheart Castle has fresh rewards. Pathfinder is here, and for the trial period the class belongs to Ironman characters only. Chaos Zakum opened his eyes, Chaos Horntail is handing out 2,800,000,000 EXP per non-practice clear, and Lionheart Castle monsters are dropping Rousseau's Key at 80%. Then there is Fortune, a new account-wide multiplier that quietly decides how good your grind actually is. THE PATCH IN TEN SECONDS Pathfinder is playable. Ironman characters only during the trial period. Advance at Lv. 10, then automatically at Lv. 30, 70 and 120. Chaos Zakum is live. Non-practice clears grant 1,600,000,000 EXP, Perfect Pitch, the normal clear blessing, and 1 Chaos Boss Accessory Scroll per player. Fortune, a new account-wide multiplier. It scales your EXP, meso and item drop rewards, and it moves while you play. Details below. Big damage pass across most classes. Bishop, Corsair and I/L Arch Mage lead the list, and almost everyone else moved up too. Patch with the launcher before you log in. NEW CLASS: PATHFINDER Pathfinder is an Ancient Bow class built on two things: a Relic Gauge that feeds on aggression, and a Cardinal kit that hits like a siege engine. You stack, you sustain, you unload. Stop attacking and the gauge walks away from you, so the class rewards players who never stop moving forward. During the trial period, Pathfinder is available to Ironman characters only. Advance at Lv. 10, then automatically at Lv. 30, Lv. 70, and Lv. 120. Its job labels are now unified from Pathfinder I / II / III / IV to simply Pathfinder . How the Relic Gauge Works Relic Gauge: holds up to 10 stacks. It expires after 7 seconds without attacking, so uptime is on you. Curse Weakening II: every stack grants +1 WATK and +5 WDEF/MDEF. Curse Weakening I: activates on a full gauge and grants a critical-damage bonus. This is the reward for holding the top of the gauge. Relic Charge: activates every 30 hits for +20 WATK, ACC, and AVOID for 600 seconds. Cursed Arrow: costs 10 MP and lasts 600 seconds. It preserves the WATK of your carried arrows and stops skill attacks from consuming arrows at all. Normal attacks still consume arrows. It works with no arrows carried, and it now correctly shows its black and purple projectile state for both local and remote players. The Cardinal Kit Cardinal attacks scale from fast multi-target pressure into single-target execution. Cardinal Discharge, Cardinal Blast, Cardinal Transition, Triple Impact, Cardinal Burst, and Cardinal Deluge form the core rotation. Edge of Resonance is the crowd answer at 15 targets, while Combo Assault is the single-target finisher; both finishers have a 30-second cooldown. Support and Utility Raven: grants +400 WDEF and summons for 600 seconds, attacking up to 4 targets. Dodge: grants a chance to avoid incoming attacks. Curse Tolerance: grants status and elemental resistance for 600 seconds. Ancient Guidance: grants Max HP and damage bonuses for 600 seconds. Illusion Step: party buff for +80 DEX, damage reduction, and +10 Avoid for 600 seconds. Sharp Eyes: uses its corrected critical-rate and critical-damage values. Critical Shot and Essence of Archer: grant critical-rate and critical-damage bonuses. Ancient Bow Mastery and Ancient Bow Expert: grant mastery, accuracy, and weapon-attack bonuses as the job advances. Fixes Shipped With the Launch Cardinal Transition: now rushes correctly. Ancient Bow Expert: now correctly displays its Lv. 21 -> 30 bonus of +21 -> +30 WATK. Skill macros: 30-second cooldown skills now work in them. Damage Reflect: Pathfinder ignores it. Projectiles: Double Jump, Cardinal area targeting, Raven, Triple Impact, and Edge of Resonance now work correctly without native arrow projectiles. Client jump limit: 123 -> 140. BOSSING AND PROGRESSION Chaos Bosses There is now a tier above what used to be the top. Chaos Zakum is now available and can be cleared twice per week . Non-practice clears grant 1,600,000,000 EXP , Perfect Pitch, the normal clear blessing, and 1 Chaos Boss Accessory Scroll per player. Chaos Horntail can be cleared twice per week . Non-practice clears grant 2,800,000,000 EXP and 1 Chaos Boss Accessory Scroll per player. Chaos Horntail clears now register reliably, reconnecting members return to the furthest active stage, and practice deaths respawn you inside the instance. Chaos Horntail's Necklace and Silver Blossom Ring drops increase 2 -> 3 , each retaining its 80% drop chance. Boss difficulty menus now list 6/6 -> 1/6 instead of 1/6 -> 6/6. Lionheart Castle The castle was technically farmable before. It just did not feel like it. Castle's Brick and Rousseau's Key now have an 80% drop chance from every regular Lionheart monster. Purification Totem now has a 3% drop chance from every regular Lionheart monster. Reloaded monster spawns now return to valid platforms. Maple Warrior and Ironman Maple Warrior remains the single most argued about number in the game, so we moved it. Maple Warrior 30 master level: 40 -> 30 . Existing levels above 30 are reduced on login and refund 1 SP per removed level, so Lv. 40 -> Lv. 30 refunds 10 SP. Maple Warrior 40 : added a 50% Mastery Book requiring Maple Warrior Lv. 25. Chaos Horntail drops it at 800,000/1,000,000 , while regular Horntail continues to drop the Lv. 30 book. Ironman milestones : characters missing a suppressed Lv. 30, Lv. 60, or Lv. 100 milestone can now reclaim their personal untradeable secondary weapon. Ironman skill exchanges : purchases of the Fortune skill , which is unrelated to the new Fortune rate multiplier further down, now teach and keybind correctly after the skill renumber. Existing Fortune skill owners keep their unlocks and are not charged a second time. Speed Infusion maximum level: 40 -> 20 , so the exchange can grant it correctly. Combat Orders is no longer offered through the exchange. Existing owners keep the skill and all of its benefits. AP Reset source-stat floor: 0 -> 4 . Forgotten Hollow : lawn claims are now limited to Lv. 100 and below . Shops and Rewards Luden : Ifia's Treasure can now be opened in bulk, up to 100 per transaction at 1,000 Rousseau's Keys each. Unopened treasures do not consume Keys when a reward cannot be delivered. Inkwell : the Perfect Pitch shop includes Clean Slate Scroll 1% at 1 Pitch , Clean Slate Scroll 20% at 20 , Chaos Scroll 60% at 60 , and White Scroll at 60 . Perfect Pitch is consumed only after the item is delivered. Perfect Pitch drops retain their intended scaling of 1 percentage point per 1,000,000 monster max HP. Equipment, Quests, and New Characters Enraged Zakum Belt: now supports up to 5 Luden upgrades. Each grants +1 to +2 STR, DEX, INT, LUK, WATK, and MATK for 18,000 Castle's Bricks. Kerning Square: all 24 quests now grant 70,000 base EXP, up from a range of 0 to 48,500. New Characters: now start with 5 account-bound Safety Charms and 5 account-bound Wheels of Fortune, up from 0 each. Lv. 250 Milestone: Do or Die medal, 2 Miraculous Chaos Scrolls, and 5 Lucky Day Scrolls 1.6x. Lv. 260 Milestone: 26 White Scrolls, 26 Chaos Scrolls 60%, 52 Perfect Pitch, 26 Clean Slate Scrolls 20%, 26 Clean Slate Scrolls 1%, 26 Kuro Vitality Potions, and 26 Lucky Day Scrolls 1.1x. Balrog Gear: all 72 pieces now require 0 STR, DEX, INT, and LUK to equip. Balrog Scroll 100%'s +1 -> +5 roll now affects STR, DEX, INT, LUK, WATK, and MATK instead of four stats. Maker: the Mask recipe is now available to every class at Maker Lv. 3 and character Lv. 115 for 352,000 mesos and 26 Black Crystals. Cold Protection 10% and Spikes on Shoes 10% Maker recipes are retired; non-Maker sources remain. Chaos Scroll Variants: 182 risky and 10% variants are retired from drops, rewards, storage, use, and Lv. 50 / Lv. 60 milestone pools. FORTUNE, FISHING, AND BOT CHECKS Fortune Fortune is a new account-wide rate multiplier. It sits at the top of its range by default, drifts down while you actively grind, and climbs back slowly while you are away from monsters. Be aware that it falls faster than it recovers, and that passing a bot check puts it straight back to the cap. Range: Fortune starts and caps at 120.0, which is 1.20x EXP, 1.20x meso, and 1.20x non-meso item drop rewards. Floor: 100.0, which is 1.00x. It cannot go below that. Decay: each active 5-minute window of monster EXP lowers Fortune by 1.0 point. Recovery: each inactive 5-minute window restores 0.2 points, so idle recovery is five times slower than decay. Scope: tracked per account, not per character. Fishing Sitting in the Free Market now scales with how far you have actually come. While seated on any chair in the Free Market, rewards changed from 1 Perfect Pitch every 10 minutes -> floor(character level / 10) Perfect Pitch every 10 minutes. Bot Checks Bot checks are less frequent, more forgiving on the first miss, and now hand you something for passing. At Fortune 100.0 or below: checks occur every 20 -> 35 minutes. Above Fortune 100.0: checks occur every 60 -> 120 minutes. Passing a check: restores Fortune to its 120.0 cap. First miss: no rate penalty, and a confirmation check is scheduled after 15 -> 60 seconds. Second linked failure: 0.5x reward rates for 60 minutes, pending GM review. CASH SHOP AND COSMETICS Anime Skins The catalog is now almost ten times its old size, and yes, one of them is a cat in a box. Permanent skin catalog expanded 12 -> 116, at 10,000 Donation Points each. Added Psyduck, Cinnamoroll, Cat in a Box, Snorlax, Samurai Spirit, Foxblade Girl, Ditto, and White Kitsune. Hats, Rings, and Hair More ways to be recognized in the Free Market without saying a word. Sanrio Hats: added 12 unisex hats at 3,550 NX for 30 days. Chat and Label Rings: added 50 rings, expanding the donor catalog 43 -> 93. Each costs 4,750 Donation Points for 30 days. Amy Premium: added Elfine and Recover hairs, plus the Not-So-Chucklehead and Sweet Candy faces. Retirements and Removals Some items are stepping off the shelf. If you already own them, you keep them. Folk Dance of Ink, Ballet of Ink, and Great Golden Dragon's Fury are no longer sold. Carrot Rocket Chair was removed from the weekly, Amy, Fashion Pass, and Surprise chair reward pools. Existing copies remain. Bubble Leaf Hat was removed from the 30-day, 3,550 NX Cash Shop sale. Damage Skins and Daily Login Two long-standing display bugs, finally reading the way they should. 22 supported abbreviated-number damage skin coupons are now marked "UNIT" and correctly render K, M, B, and Korean unit formats. Daily Login: legacy Maple Point rewards now pay out and display as NX. Reward values are unchanged, including Day 2 at 50 NX and Day 9 at 150 NX. BALANCE: DAMAGE PASS The balance sheet below shows final damage values only. The headliners Bishop: Angel Ray 1,308% , Big Bang 376% Blaze Wizard: Dragon Blaze 1,876% F/P Arch Mage: Flame Haze 594% I/L Arch Mage: Chain Lightning 444% Corsair: Battleship Cannon 974% Night Walker: Quintuple Star 597% Full numbers below. Affected 40-level skills now hold their Lv. 30 value from Lv. 31 through Lv. 40. BUG FIXES Damage and Skills Several final corrections make skill timing, animation, and displayed damage agree with the server. Song of Heaven: uses a 47/44 local damage-number display multiplier so displayed and applied damage match. Night Walker: Claw Booster reduces Quintuple Star delay 700 ms -> 300 ms. With Speed Infusion it is 240 ms. Night Walker Vampire: now uses the correct cast animation. Illusion Step: Avoidability is now applied once instead of duplicating. Items and Instances A cleanup pass across the things that quietly ate your progress. Dragon Stone: 1 Nine Spirit's Egg -> 1 Dragon Stone can now be repeated immediately. Failed or pending claims keep or restore the egg. Abyssal Gauntlet: Fixed empty-floor and phantom-monster softlocks, failed spawn recovery, and disconnect recovery. Stale preset skills and key bindings no longer crash the client. Maker and Player Drops: Inventory changes, picked-up and dropped items, mesos, and character progress now persist safely instead of risking loss or rollback. Innocence Scroll: Rerolls now reset scroll slots and item progression before applying clean base stats. Chair Recovery: Chair HP and MP recovery now uses each chair's listed amount. Arowana Chair's 200 HP / 200 MP recovery works again. Characters and Accounts Equipment Sets: Set bonuses now synchronize automatically after login. Pet Equipment: Character-select avatars and cash medal slots now render correctly. Daily Quests: An already-used entitlement date no longer blocks the next claim. Jail: Sentences now count only while the player is online. Event 26 Event 26 Rewards: White Scroll, Clean Slate Scroll 20% / 5% / 3%, Perfect Pitch, and Blessing of Fairy rewards were repaired so they are usable and character-bound. Event 26 Crafting: Character-bound event materials can now be used in Maker and Agent E crafting. Any craft using bound materials produces a character-bound item, and unbound materials are consumed first. Event 26 Chaos Scroll of Goodness: Bound crafted copies cannot be used with Karma or moved through account, guild, or Ore and Scroll Storage. Bot Checks Targeting: Automated bot checks no longer target expedition members or players who have not attacked within the previous 3 seconds. Prompts: Verification prompts no longer intermittently appear blank, and they now fit legacy client dialog layouts more reliably. Controls: Completing a check, timing out, or changing maps during one no longer leaves attacks and skills disabled until relogging. Free Market 20: Logging in or warping into FM 20 no longer softlocks the client. QUALITY OF LIFE Controller Support Couch setups, welcome to the grind. Controller Tab: Added a native Controller tab in Key Config with rebindable inputs saved to controller_keyconfig.ini. Default Layout: D-pad arrows, A Alt, B Ctrl, X Space, Y Shift, LB Z, RB X, LT C, RT V, Back Esc, Start Enter. Left stick moves your character, right stick moves the cursor. Modifier Bindings: Alt, Ctrl, and Shift controller bindings now register reliable presses and releases. Interface Social UI: Names with 1 -> 3 alphanumeric characters now work in whispers, buddy requests, party invites, guild invites, and other social dialogs. ImGui Chat: Updated to match the native v83 chat layout and colors, with configurable highlight colors for map chat, notices, megaphones, Super Megaphones, Gachapon, and item megaphones. Name Tag Colors: Rainbow now cycles continuously through hues, while Flicker produces random brightness flashes. Both remain correct through local and remote character updates. Gold Gacha: pulls no longer announce through Super Megaphones or web and widget notifications. Maintenance Notices: scheduled downtime now gets an initial notice, applicable 30 / 15 / 5 / 1-minute reminders, and a start notice. Notices include expected downtime, warn that overlapping 2x coupon time can be lost, and replace prior countdowns. Items and World Channels: available channels doubled from 5 to 10. Karma Scissors: Regular Scissors now reject Platinum-Scissors-only equipment instead of silently failing. Platinum Scissors continue to work. Cosmetic Bank: With unlimited saving active, newly applied Amy Premium hair and face styles save automatically. @beauty now lists your current Hair, Face, and Skin presets. Luma: Moved from the Forgotten Hollow vine to flat ground so her name and function labels are readable. Discord Status: Now shows online player counts. New class, new boss, new multiplier, and a damage pass that touched almost everyone. Your old grind spot is not the same place it was last week. Patch up, log in, and go find out. Please patch using the launcher before logging in. Happy Mapling! ~ Kuro
