Mage Testing feedback (Game Feel and Functionality)

KuroMS Suggestions discussion with 7 posts about Mage Testing feedback (Game Feel and Functionality).
Hello! My name is Nex. I spent some time in the testing server testing out how all the mages felt and their skills. Links to other Classes Warriors Archers Thieves Pirates This is somewhat lengthy so I have a TL:DR section at the bottom. Disclaimer: This is not a damage comparison, rather this is a testing of how each mage feels to play and making sure their skills work. Now I'm just one guy with opinions so take these with a grain of salt. Feel free to tell me if I'm wrong and or offer suggestions of your own! Magician/Blaze Wiz 1st Moving and jump casting is awesome. Otherwise is working fine. F/p Wizard/Mage/Arch Mage Fire arrow hitting 3 targets is great, however skill description incorrectly reads 3 enemies between 1 and 10 (typo) Works correctly from 11 to max. Poison Breath isn't doing much but works. (as expected) Explosion cannot be cast midair and not sure if that's intended. Poison Mist still a fun skill, can be used to train way above your level which not sure if that's intended. Still fun and doesn't bother me personally. Meteor Shower feels great and damage fall off appears to be working correctly. (Skill Icon also looks really cool) Paralyze feels awesome and is a great cleaving option. Will randomly do 1 line of damage but seems to be the total damage of all 4 lines? Probably a bug. Fire Demon is an awesome single target option that F/p needed, works great. I/L Wizard/Mage/Arch Mage Thunderbolt is good, especially with midair casting. Cold Beam works but isn't too useful. (As expected) Ice strike feels great especially with midair casting. Thunder Spear hitting 3 enemies is really nice, can be useful for training on lightning weak mobs. Blizzard feels great, damage fall off appears to be working correctly. (Also has a cool skill icon) Chain Lightning is nice, 3 lines and it bouncing off enemies feels satisfying. Ice Demon is a great bossing option like Fire Demon, great change. Cleric/Priest/Bishop Heal seems to working normally. Holy arrow hitting 3 targets is great and removes cleric's depending on heal training. Invincible seems to be working correctly. Shining ray with 2 lines feels good. Mystic Door, Holy Symbol, and Dispel seem to be fine. Doom is working properly, but is it supposed to work on LHC mobs? Genesis is great, damage fall off seems to be applying. (Love the skill icons on all the mage ults) Angel Ray is a very nice single target option Bishop's Big Bang not requiring charge makes it a usable cleaving option. Blaze Wizard Fire pillar pretty much outclasses fire arrow but that's fine. Slow works normally mostly except when I use it on Slimys in Ghost Ship 2. it seems to be doing a flat amount of % damage based on their current max hp? It can't kill but the damage seems to be applying. Flame Gear, like Poison mist can be used to high level train. Doesn't bother me personally. Fire Strike is nice and feels different enough from other mages. Towering Inferno, Dragon Blaze, and Dragon fireballs all feel amazing and really make Blaze Wizard unique. Dragon Blaze does say its supposed to have a 2sec cd but it doesn't have one. Not sure if intended. Infinite Blaze is a nice step above the standard infinity and feels good to press. Common Mage skills Ele reset: great QoL and seems to be working correctly Amp: Good of course. Partial resist: Seems to work fine. Booster: Works fine. Seal: Exists, seems to work fine. Infinity: Works fine. Big Bang: Works fine. Mana Reflection: Exists, but works fine. Meditation: Stacking with matk items is nice. Mp Eater: Seems to be working fine. Elemental Composition: Not useful but works as expected. Elquines/Ifrit/Bahamut: Seem to be working fine. TL:DR Section F/P Explosion can't be cast midair Poison Mist can high level train Paralyze seems to have a visual bug I/L Just feels great to play. Bishop Doom working on LHC enemies, not sure if that's intended. Blaze Wizard Slow bugged? in specific circumstances. Flame Gear can high level train. Dragon Blaze doesn't have a cooldown. Closing Thoughts The Mages all feel pretty satisfying and I didn't feel like there were any outliers here. Blaze feels very different but doesn't feel like its outclassing any of the others. Thank you for your time and consideration!

Actually wanted to make my own but I'm just gona add here. Fire strike is like half the damage of explosion though. Feels bad. but I guess they balance out because BW has the best 4th job of the mages.

Great post, will reply later in detail, about slow way back I made it to deal damage but not able to kill on purpose.

Tests are done with lvl 80 chars with only clean 64 maple weapons equipped. 400 stats. Ranger is triple everyone's damage and even the top ST NL's mobbing is better than the mobber. FP explosion is very slow. probably why its ranked last. but mages should be the better mobbers since they suck at ST.

That is very interesting but I need to point out that the mage formula favors you having more magic attack rather than just raw int, so with proper gear that is inline with the other classes gear they should deal more damage

I could understand this point if we are talking about 4th job skill balance but this is 3rd job. Most likely we will be using clean weapons or at best 60% with vega. Even with that said. I dont believe the damage can triple to match ranger rain even if i perfect scroll a weapon.
