Official classic relaunch vs Kuro: an honest comparison
The official classic relaunch opens to everyone on October 21, 2026, after about two weeks of paid early access. Here is what it offers as announced, what Kuro offers today, and how to pick the one that fits you: classes, platforms, price, level cap and region.
At a glance
A new official classic version of the game opens to everyone on October 21, 2026 (11:00 am PDT, per its publisher). Paid early access started on October 6, and those players keep their progress, so the new economy opens with a two-week head start for them. It is built around the early days: manual stats, scrolls and slow, social leveling. If that sounds like your game, enjoy it. If you want to play a Pirate, play on your phone, or you live where the service may not reach, Kuro is a free classic private server you can play today.
Dated facts: Details of the official relaunch come from its publisher's announcements, release notes and FAQ as of October 8, 2026, plus press reports where we say so, and may change. Kuro is an independent, community-run project, not affiliated with any game publisher.
